Workshop at the Tyrolean Cancer Research Institute

On February 20th, 2023, a class of 8th-grade students from the Bundesrealgymnasium on Adolf-Pichler-Platz in Innsbruck visited the Tyrolean Cancer Research Institute/Tiroler Krebsforschungsinstitut (TKFI). Their teacher, Julia Ingruber, organized the visit for her students to give them the chance to learn about the work of the institute. The class participated in a brief discussion, where they gained insight into cancer research and had their questions answered on the topic. Then they were given a tour of the premises and were able to view the cancer cell lines used under a microscope. The visit was meant not only to provide a glimpse into the world of research, but also to inspire a potential career in this field. Most importantly, the approximately one-hour workshop aimed to spark the students’ interest in science and research.

The workshop was supervised by Eduard Stefan and Thomas Nuener.
