Insights into Cancer Research: TKFI at the “Lange Nacht der Forschung 2026”

We believe that giving insight into our cancer research to the general public, a non-scientific audience, is also an important part of our work. We hope to inspire especially younger generations about science by explaining our research in simple terms and accessible to everyone. The “Lange Nacht der Forschung 2026” offers all this and more, which is why we were delighted to participate again this year.

In addition to answering visitors’ questions, we set up two interactive stations for children and the possibility to observe cancer cell lines and glowing bacteria. Another highlight was the talk „Impfen gegen Krebs – wie geht das?“, given by one of our group leaders, Guido Wollmann. He explained this complex topic in simple terms and with plenty of enthusiasm.

Since our contribution to this event was largely made possible by volunteers, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Andreas Aufschnaiter, Astrid Bernkop-Schnürch, Sarah Danklmaier, Paul Fleischmann, Brigitte Kircher, Thomas Kirchmair, Thomas Nuener, Meike Terwort und Guido Wollmann.
